Two Weeks Already

I can't believe it has been two weeks since my last post. OK, I guess I can. The big event was Bear Lake. This time it was more eventful than usual. Dave backed the boat (and his truck) into the lake. The boat wouldn't start and the truck proceeded to sink deeper into the sand bar. We hired a tractor to pull us out and it too sunk into the bar. We then hired a tow truck to pull both vehicles out. No, there will not be pictures but suffice it to say that there was water in the cab...

Dave headed back down to Logan to get the truck dried out and I took the boat out. After about 3 minutes the engine began to smoke and died. Did you know you can get quite far in 3 minutes. We couldn't find a single person willing to help us so my Aunt Janis, Kiley, Ellie and I pulled the boat in. I have muscles I didn't know about (because I hurt so bad).

Needless to say the kids and I had a great time and I will post some pictures of them.

There is a fun quiz for you to take (see What Carnival Ride Are You) on the right.

Kick Off

So, even though I learned to blog over a month ago, I just now have found the time and energy to post one. Mom and Dad have retired and are moving out West. I almost gave up on posting a family blog and then realized that there are still a lot of friends and family that might enjoy hearing what the Hamblin's are up to so here it is...

Kiley is working two jobs, taking a summer college class, and is the head flag captain for the drill team at Sky View. My plan of keeping her out of trouble seems to be working so far. She works alternating afternoons and evenings at Cold Stone Ice Cream and at Lee's Marketplace in Smithfield.

Mitchell is working construction with Dave and he is too tired to get in trouble. He is even too tired to remember that last Sunday he had a talk to give in sacrament meeting (At this time it is important to mention that Grandma and Grandpa Waite and Aunt Toey were in the congregation too). The first counselor announced the speakers and I don't know who was more in shock, Mitchell or me. I was so proud of him though, he got up announced that he had been working a lot with his Dad, working on his Eagle Project and that he didn't bother to mention his talk to me so I shouldn't be held responsible. He then bore his testimony and sat down. I had a ton of people come up to me saying that they would have walked out in that situation but not Mitch. :)

Kordell and Ellie are keeping busy this summer with Boys and Girls Club. They have mastered the LTD (bus system) as this is the primary mode of transportation for free lunch, parks, the library and of course the POOL.

My goal is to post something, a comment, a pix, ...each week so check back often.
